One Year Old!

I can't believe it, but you turned one year old this month! This year went so fast. You've learned and grown soo much.

Here is a picture of you eating lunch (grilled cheese sandwich) on your birthday.
I started to introduce you to cow's milk. So far you definitely don't like it. You'll take a mouthful of it, but then you won't drink anymore. But you like most other foods. You love vegetables, and will eat broccoli and peas by the handful.

You're walking and babbling up a storm (even though we don't really understand much of it). We just love having you around!

Happy Birthday, Paige!

The Messes You Make

No one can make a mess like you can. Each more we start with a clean house, and by the end of the day you've spread your toys everywhere.

National Museum of Natural History

We took a trip down to the National Museum of Natural History to see the new Hall of Human Origins. It was a pretty cool exhibit.

Here are you and me posing in front of the elephant in the center of the museum:
Here you are in the Hall of Human Origins sharing a camp fire with this bronzed ancestor.

Checking out skulls with Daddy:

After we went through the Hall of Human Origins we spent a couple of minutes looking at dinosaurs.

As you can see in this video, you were more interested in the floor than you were in the dinosaurs.

Things on Your Head

You like to put things over your head and walk around with them. You look like a cute little ghost here.

Pebbles Ponytail

In January I realized that your hair was finally long enough for a little Pebbles Ponytail. With you hair done you're looking less like a baby and more like a little girl.

Museum with the Meldrums

In January, our friend Jaren came out to Washington, DC for some medical school interviews. We went on a trip to the National Portrait gallery with Jaren and his brother Eric who lives out here.

Here is Jaren educating you on popular culture; specifically, LL Cool J:

Here you are trying to taste Eric's gloves:

Riding around on Daddy's shoulders:

Riding in your stroller looking at all the pictures:

At one point I took you out of the stroller and let you walk around on the ground. You loved it. You let out an excited little squeal and took of running. You liked to be able to walk in the wide open space.
