Toys and Noises

You're way more interested in toys now and you love making noises. When you focus intently on things you start drooling. It's adorable. Here's a video of you going for toys and making your fun sounds. And drooling. =)

Pictures

I love taking pictures of you. I end up taking a lot during tummy time because you look so cute while you're looking around on your own.

Haircut

You were born with a lot of hair. As you've grown the hair on top got really long and everything else got shorter.

You got a nice bald spot from sleeping and laying on your back. Plus bald spots have appeared where your little head is growing.

Recently I noticed that your hair was starting to fall out anyway so I decided to give you a haircut! I evened out the back and sides so you didn't have any distinctive bald places and then cut the top shorter.
It was pretty tricky cutting your hair because you kept turning to look around. But as always you look so darn cute!

Daddy's Chair and Blanket

You like to sit up so you can see around the room, but you can't quite sit up on your own yet. So we prop you up so you can look around. You especially like sitting in Daddy's favorite chair.

You also REALLY like Daddy's favorite blanket. Daddy likes to use this blanket (because it's the perfect thickness and feel), and whenever you see it you stare right at it.

Usually you try to eat it too.

My Baby Doll

I have a lot of clothes that I wore as a baby that you wear now. Aunt Holly and I used to dress our dolls in a lot of these clothes. I remember in particular putting my dolls in this outfit.

It's too warm to wear too much during the summer, but you look so cute in it!

National Portrait Gallery and Ford's Theater

While Daddy was suffering through finals this semester, we went to the National Portrait Gallery/American Art Museum and Ford's Theater. We went with Michelle and Gabbi Prince and Emily and Abby Hamilton.

The National Portrait Gallery is connected to the American Art Museum and we spent some time wandering through that building. There are some really cool things there. License plates from the 50 states the spell out the preamble to the constitution:

That day we also went to Ford's Theater where President Lincoln was shot. We saw a museum about the assassination, the coat Lincoln was wearing when he died (the man was huge!), and a really well done presentation about the assassination. I was a little disappointed to find out that the theater was a recreated after being gutted and turned into an office building. But that's alright. The recreation was good and it was still neat to be there.

You and Gabbi did alright during the presentation, even though you two did make a little noise (mostly happy noise) which earned us some glares from other people. Abby on the other hand decided she wanted to be outside running up and down stairs rather than be in the theater.

This was definitely a cool sight seeing trip. I love living so close to Washington, DC!
