Cupboards

Just yesterday you figured out why it was fun to open cupboards.

Just yester

Toy Box

Your toys were starting to take over the house so I bought you a new toy box. One day I put you in it to play. You liked it a lot and cried when I tried to take you out.

Blocks

We got you a set of blocks for Christmas. You don't stack them yet, but you love playing with them.

Growing

You have gotten so big. This is a picture of the pjs you wore when you were first born and the pjs you wore to sleep last night.

I can't believe how big you are!

Resting with Daddy

You are a very busy little girl, but sometimes you lay down for a minute next to Daddy when you need a small break from playing.

Kitchen Toy

Neck Jewelry

In Colorado you got a big kick out of Grandma's necklace, and now you take everything possible and put it around your neck. You'll take scarves, cords, clothes... basically anything and put it over your head and around your neck. Then you walk around, and get mad if we try to take it off you. Here you are with a sock hung around your neck:

We'll have to find you some fun necklaces to start wearing.

Blanket Forts

We've discovered that you LOVE blanket forts. You love hiding under blankets, and it's even more fun for you when we make a fort out of blankets. You crawl in and out giggling the whole time.

Taking Steps

Right as we returned to from Colorado (at the end of December) you started taking taking steps by yourself. Here you are stepping on some of the mess you made.

Clapping

In December you started clapping when you get excited. I haven't been able to get it on video, but here's a picture of you mid-clap.

Christmas in Colorado

We spent your first Christmas in Colorado. All of your grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins were SO excited to see you.

You loved playing at both of your grandparent's houses. We stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Kartchner but went over and saw Grandpa and Grandma Brison every day. You loved crawling around the big houses, climbing up the stairs, and having so many people around who always wanted to hold you and play with you.

Here we are at the airport, watching the suitcases get loaded onto the airplane.

Here you are on Daddy's lap, looking out the window, waiting to take over on your first airplane ride!
You did really well on the flights to Colorado. For the most part you played happily (even though you got a little bit bored toward the end), and then you fell asleep at the start of the second flight (we had a layover in Chicago).

I didn't get pictures of everyone we saw during the week, but we got a bunch.

Here you are with your cousin Rylee. Rylee was SO excited that you were there and she loved playing with you.

Playing the piano with Grandma Brison:

Playing the guitar with Grandpa Brison: (grandpa had lots of fun instruments he let you play with!)

Playing with Grandma Kartchner:
Posing for a picture with Justine and Hazel: (Justine is my friend, and we were roommates at BYU)

Playing on our suitcase:

We spent Christmas morning at the Brison's house, the afternoon at the Kartchner's, then went back to the Brison's for a little bit, then back to the Kartchner's for bedtime. It was a busy day, but lots of fun!

Christmas morning with Grandma Brison:

Squirming on Uncle Erik:

Sitting at the kids table with your cousins Jaron, Brinley, and Jace. You LOVED this little chair.

Posing next to cousin Rylee:
You got so many presents for Christmas. We handed you your first present at the Brison's and you were a little bit confused until I ripped a little piece of it to show you how to do it. From there you got SO excited and started ripping the paper and were excited to find a new toy inside. I don't have any pictures of you opening presents at the Brison's, but it was really cute.

You got more presents at the Kartchner's. All of the grandkids got cute little stools with your names on them:

You also got a puppy that makes different noises and sings different songs when you touch its hands and feet. You've loved it since you opened it (well, since I opened it while you watched):

We had such a fun time in Colorado!

Here you are at the airport waiting to get on the airplane to fly home:

You did not do well on the flight home. The flight took off right at your bedtime, so we thought you would just fall asleep and sleep for the flight. But no, you didn't. You were awake, cranky, and crying for most of the flight. We felt so sad that you were having such a rough time.

You were also a little cranky when we got home and kept looking at me as if to say "where are all the people who play with me!?"

We were so lucky to be able to spend Christmas in Colorado and we can't wait to go back again!

Looking Guilty

Learning to Walk

At the beginning of December 2010 we borrowed a fun walker toy from the Snows. You LOVE this alligator toy. You immediately started playing with it, and were using it to walk in no time.

From there it only took you a couple days to go start moving even faster.

Under the Desk

You like crawling underneath the computer desk. There isn't a lot to do under there, but you crawl under and sit their in your cave for awhile.

Hangin' with Henry

Daddy and I went and saw a movie on his birthday, and you went over to Henry's house to play. Christen said you were so funny that night. You would crawl around on their rug, but then get nervous any time you'd get too close to an edge.

We're so lucky to have such good friends!

Pulling Things off Shelves

You LOVE to pull things (like books, video games, DVDs) off of shelves. You pull yourself up on the shelf, then start pulling things off and dropping them on the floor.

I like how you're wearing a shirt that says "I Love Daddy"... as you make a big mess with all his video games!

Stuck

In attempts to get to the computer, you crawl underneath your walker (which we have strategically placed so you can't get to the computer). Often you just end up stuck... and then mad because you got stuck.

Sunday in PJs

Sundays after church I like to put you in pjs.

Bathtime

You still LOVE bathtime. Toward the end of the day, any time we go into the bathroom you come running and stand by the bath tub. You get soo excited when we start running a bath for you.

Hate the Carseat, Love the Keys

We took a trip to Gettysburg in November 2010. Daddy and I were excited to see Gettysburg, but since visitors drive around the town in cars you didn't really like it. You were not thrilled by the 2 hour drive, plus the drive around in the car, plus the drive back. You did like getting out at McDonalds, but that was about it. Toward the end of the drive home you were especially mad. We were able to distract you with my keys for a little bit, but overall you were just so sad. You do not like being strapped into your carseat for too long.

9 Months Old

At your 9 months doctor appointment on November 5, 2010, your stats were:

Height: 27 in. (50%)
Weight: 17 lbs. 3 oz. (10-25%)
Head Circum: 17.5 in. (50%)

You were in lower percentiles this visit then you have been in past visits, but the doctor said that's normal for a breastfed baby. You're healthy and growing well!

Starting to Walk

October 7, 2010

You mastered crawling and then quickly moved on to learning how to walk. We were at Michelle's house and you pulled yourself up on Gabbi's walker and started pushing it along and walking with it!
