Sometimes you just have to stop and groove.

While You Were Napping...
Every day before nap time we clean up all the toys in your room. The other day I put you down for your nap and after a little while went in to check on you. This is what I found:
You were fast asleep and all sorts of toys and clothes were scattered everywhere. It made me laugh and I couldn't help snapping a few pictures of the mayhem you had created.

Under the "C"
Yesterday at preschool we talked about things that are found under the sea (fish, whales, seaweed, treasure chests, etc.). Today you showed me a picture of a treasure chest and said:
"Treasure box. Under the sea. cuh! cuh!"
I didn't understand why you were making the "cuh" noise until you clarified:
"C says cuh!"
Then I realized what you were thinking:
"Treasure box. Under the C"
"Treasure box. Under the sea. cuh! cuh!"

Potty
You pooped on the potty for the first time today! You willing pee on the potty (you've been doing that for almost a year now) but today was the first time you've pooped there. You're such a big girl!

New Trains
You really love toy trains. Grandma and Grandpa Brison got you a train set for your birthday. It has train tracks, train cars, and a couple animals that ride in the cars. You love setting it up and playing with it.

Big Turtle
These pictures were taken at the play place at Tyson's Corner Mall. You love coming here and playing. Your favorite part is the giant turtle (at least I assume that's your favorite part since you talk about it the most) and whenever I say we're going to the mall you get really excited about seeing the Giant Turtle.

Taking Care of Baby
Our good friends gave you a fun play set for your birthday that had a bunch of gear for your baby dolls. You loved it the second you opened it and started taking care of your baby doll right away.

Two Years Old!
Your prayer today (you can say full prayers by yourself):
"Heavenly Father, Thank you for my birthday. In name of Jesus Christ, amen."
"Heavenly Father, Thank you for my birthday. In name of Jesus Christ, amen."
Today is your birthday and it blows my mind with how smart and big you've gotten.
You're extremely independent and like to do things by yourself. If given the choice "should Paige do it, or should mommy do it?" your answers is (almost) always "Paige do it!" You insist on walking most place (instead of being carried), putting your shoes on, climbing into your car seat, climbing up on the potty, eating, drinking, and putting your coats on by yourself (you do many many other things by yourself too).
Even with all your independence, you're incredibly obedient. You'll (almost) always do what we ask you to do (even though it sometimes takes us asking you a few times to do it). You put away your toys when we ask you to, you give up objects when we ask for them, and you stop doing something naughty when we ask you to. You respond very quickly when we telling you you're doing something naughty (and usually give us a little grin too). You do, of course, throw tantrums sometimes when you aren't getting what you want, but for the most part you're a sweet little girl.
You say "please" and "thank you" almost all the time. You're so polite! You love to eat good foods (including most fruits and vegetables), but you are not at all interested in eating sandwiches or bread (unless it's toast). You've discovered that you love candies (frequently asking "more candies please!"), cookies, and ice cream but you are not at all interested in cake.
You are incredibly smart, love to learn, and love to know the answers. You know all of your capital letters and most of the lower case letters (you still mix up a few of them like "q" and "g" and "b" and "d"). You know all of the letter's sounds (D say duh). You can count to 12 with no mistakes, and can count to 20 with only a few mistakes. You know most of the shapes (circle, square, triangle, octagon, pentagon, hexagon, rectangle, diamond, heart, oval, start, arrow) and love to identify shapes everywhere.
You LOVE books still. You've learned several of your books, so if we don't read them right you'll correct us and if we leave our lines you'll say them. One of the funniest you do is in a Winnie the Pooh book:
Mommy: "Pooh woke one morning with a rumbly in his tumbly"
Paige: "Oh bother!"
Mommy: "Pooh woke one morning with a rumbly in his tumbly"
Paige: "Oh bother!"
Mommy: "Pooh said"
We read a lot of stories every day because you love them so much. You've started taking books to bed with you at night and during naps. You look through the books as you're in bed falling asleep.
You also love songs. You frequently insist that we sing specific songs you. You've also recently started singing the songs yourself. I've heard you sing (all the way through and by yourself):
Baa Baa Black Sheep
Baa Baa Black Sheep
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Happy Birthday
The ABC Song
Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam
You can also fill in words on a lot of other songs (I sing them, stopping at certain words that you fill in) including:
Give Said the Little Stream
The Cannibal King
Mary Had a Little Lamb
You love going to church and nursery. We have a book of pictures of Jesus that you look through during the sacrament, and sometimes I tell you the stories that go along with the pictures. The first picture in the book is of Jesus at the last supper preparing the sacrament. Now you open the book and say "Jesus sacrament."
You are an absolutely delight and we love having you around.
Happy 2nd Birthday little Paige!
Your Birthday
You turned 2 this year. I can't believe how older you're getting!! You were excited to have a birthday and especially loved opening presents:
You got some princess shoes from Grandma Kartchner, and the SECOND you opened them you insisted on putting them.
You were also really excited about the candles on the cake. On your actual birthday we put a couple of candles on the cake leftover from my birthday the day before. We were going to have a party the day for you and figured we'd have your full cake then.
Here are the cakes for our birthday party. Your cake is the one with ladybugs and you LOVED it.
Unfortunately, you got sick and spiked a crazy fever the next day so we couldn't have our party. So we just ate lots of cake.

Funny Things You've Done Lately
You were sitting on top of Daddy who was laying on the couch. Daddy said "are you treating daddy like a couch?" and you said "Daddy not couch. Daddy big girl."
We were driving on our way to McDonalds and stopped at a light right by Chipotle. You saw Chipotle and said:
Paige: "Quesadilla!"
Mommy: "How about some chicken nuggets?"
Paige: "Um, beans!"
Mommy: "How about some french fries?"
Paige: "Um, rice!"
So we went to Chipotle.
It always cracks me up when you repeat some of the phrases that I use all of the time like:
"Sounds good!"
"Ok, let's do this!"
We had alphabet soup the other day and you went CRAZY. You were SO excited to find letters in your soup and ask for "letters soup" at most meals.
If anything on you hurts you insist on us kissing it. One of the funniest: "Bum hurts! Kiss it!"
Paige Say Prayer
Yesterday we were driving in the car. Here's our conversation:
Paige: Paige say prayer
Mommy: Ok, go ahead and say a prayer.
Paige: Heavenly Father, thank you for park. Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
You do love the park. =)
Comfy!
I was making dinner one night and you came in (naked of course, because that's how you like to be) to the kitchen, put your pillow on the floor, then laid down on it and said "Comfy!"

Clemyjontri Park
We had an unseasonably warm winter this year, so we were able to get outside a bit. We headed with playgroup out to a huge, really fun park. You had so much fun exploring everything.
You liked being able to climb all over things.
You were really brave and went across a bridge (lots and lots of times).
You'd never really climbed ladders before, so you were kind of holding on for dear life.
Going for a ride with Gabbi:
You LOVED the teeter-totter:
It was fun to get out and get some fresh air!
